Urban Decay Is Expanding the Popular Beached Collection for Summer
The only thought that gets us through the cold winter months (and these spring days that barely feel any warmer!) is the promise of a sunny summer on the horizon. Now, we have yet another reason to celebrate the beach days ahead, and that’s the new Urban Decay Beached Collection.
“This whole line is an extension of Urban Decay’s matte Beached Bronzers, which launched last year,” Urban Decay’s global makeup artist Steve Kassajikian told Cosmopolitan. “So Wende [UD’s co-founder] wanted to create a collection based off of that. The packaging is inspired by the view outside of Wende’s home, which is right on the ocean.”
The line expansion includes more sunny, bronze, and colorful eyeshadows, eyeliners, lipsticks in the collection – and yes, two new bronzer colors. The Beached Eyeshadow Palette ($34) is filled with oceanic blues, shimmering golds, and sandy neutrals that we want to live in during the warm months.
“The colors were inspired with warm tones in mind, giving it that beachy summer feel with a touch of aqua,” Kassajikian shared. “They’re deeper toned so they’re not electric, and they go well with the bronze-y feel of summer.”
The artist said that “beachy makeup is supposed to look natural with a pop of color,” which is what this collection is all about. We love the trio of radiant new lipstick shades, 100 Degrees, Heatwave, and Tower 1, and the metallic eyeliners in Lucky and Goldmine, which capture the range of makeup moods we all experience during the hottest days of the year. (Sometimes you want bold and bright, and other times you want a shimmering nude!)
The Urban Decay Beached Collection will be online at Ulta.com starting on May 8 and in Ulta stores and Urban Decay locations starting on May 10, 2018.
