Prada Debuts Colorful Fall 2018 Collection at Milan Fashion Week
If you were looking for a fashion show full of bright colors, creative silhouettes, and futuristic detailing, then the Prada Fall 2018 runway presentation at Milan Fashion Week was the place to be. Taking place at the OMA-designed Fondazione Prada complex in Milan, the show’s background was a stories-high panoramic view of the night city. The dark and metropolitan setting was the perfect contrast for the neon bright sportswear and playful accessories.
The show was all about “interpreting the relationship between history, modernity, origin, architecture, and fashion,” according to the brand. You may see distinct style references to 1920s-style drop waists and flapper skirts throughout the line, mixed with 2000s era fondness for windbreakers and zip-up jackets. Still, the collection reads definitively futuristic, with models pairing their formal wear with outerwear and colorful gear.
The Prada Fall 2018 show also featured a major social media component – unlike anything the brand has ever done before. The designer label partnered with Instagram’s mysterious cyber model Lil Miquela, who took over the show in a digital capacity – and plastered the streets with new Prada logo billboards.
Talk about truly interactive art!
