Marc Jacobs Beauty Debuts New Pride Makeup Campaign
The 30 days of June are officially Pride Month, and many members of the LGBTQ+ community celebrate by attending Pride parades, supporting LGBTQ+ organizations and business owners, and more. But true, deeply-felt pride isn’t something to keep hidden all the rest of the year – which is why Marc Jacobs is kicking off a spirited Pride celebration that goes beyond wearing rainbow one month out of the year.
Marc Jacobs Beauty is commemorating this idea with a new campaign called #GratefulNotHateful, which echoes the designer’s own everyday outlook.
“You don’t have to wait for a parade, you can find ways to do that every day of your life, and someone will hear,” designer Marc Jacobs shared in a press statement, via WWD. “I feel #Pride, or proud, every day of the year,” he added across his Instagram and Twitter accounts.
The brand has called upon models and social media influencers to show off their most colorful makeup looks for this campaign. Each participant will be styled up using a different shade of the brand’s vibrant Highliner Gel Crayon Eyeliner, which comes in every color of the rainbow – and then some, with 30 hues and two finishes. The designer himself is representing the color blue in his own #GratefulNotHateful photo shoot images.
We can’t wait to see more of the stars’ striking portraits as they are released!
As part of this Marc Jacobs Pride initiative, makeup company announced a $100,000 donation the brand is making to LGBTQ charities like Le Refuge, Sage, and the Ackerman Institute for the Family.
