Catch a Style & Makeup Breakdown from the Chanel Fall/Winter 2018-19 Paris Haute Couture Show
The Chanel Fall/Winter 2018-19 Haute Couture runway show by Karl Lagerfeld took place at the Grand Palais this Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Inspired by the sights and sounds of the bustling French city, the luxury designer label showcased everything from meticulously crafted bejeweled gowns, to voluminous blouses, and more.
Chanel’s iconic tweed suits and jackets were given a new season makeover in steely, dark metallics, and many pieces were kicked up with high collars adorned with sophisticated sequins and glimmering beading.
At this runway presentation, the brand also debuted its latest makeup line for the Fall 2018 season, called “APOTHEOSIS, LE MAT DE CHANEL.”
The full range will be available to shop starting on August 6, and consists of six new matte lip crayons, two eyeshadow quads (in earth tones and cool water tones), four creamy contouring eye pencils in coordinating hues, and a vibrant blush. This collection is all about smokey eyes, matte finishes, and steely shades.
The powerful makeup looks perfectly complemented the industrial, city-inspired vibes of the entire collection. “Romantic makeup mirrored the collection’s autumnal Parisian color palette with cool hues of anthracite grey, nocturnal navy, and almond-green offset by a warmer peachy-mauve and flecks of gold,” the brand shared on Instagram after the show. These beauty looks played a major role in bringing the modern Parisian fashionista to life.
