Target Creates Kids’ Summer Clothing Collection with the Museum of Ice Cream
If you follow a ton of top fashionistas, style influencers, and trendy celebs on your Instagram account, it’s more than likely that you have stumbled across their photos from the Museum of Ice Cream. We even recently spotlighted the creative concept space – which has had locations in Miami, San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles – in our art editorial roundup, because it is such a ‘grammable destination. But now, you and the kids in your life can officially combine your love for frozen treats with your adoration for chic children’s fashion – just in time for summer – through the upcoming Target Museum of Ice Cream kids’ collection.
The popular store chain has announced a limited-edition capsule of kids’ apparel and fun accessories will be launching in stores and online this June 3. This line is composed of clever and quirky creations, like gummy bear printed tees, fun lunch boxes and bags, cherry and banana-patterned separates, pastel roller skates and skateboards, and more! The price range for the collection is about $5 to $60, with most pieces retailing for under $25.
Of course, it was all inspired by the Target team’s own trip to the museum – because once you visit, you are forever inspired!
“We want guests to experience a true sense of joy when they’re shopping at Target, and one way we do this is through partnerships we think they’ll love,” Target Executive VP and Chief Merchandising Officer Mark Tritton said in a press statement. “When our team visited the first Museum of Ice Cream in New York City, they instantly knew it was something special. Between our shared values of joy, creativity, focus on design and unique experiences, this partnership allows us to give guests a taste of Museum of Ice Cream’s signature aesthetic, right at their local Target store and on Target.com, this summer.”
The Museum of Ice Cream team echoed the same excited sentiment.
“We launched Museum of Ice Cream in New York in 2016 because we loved ice cream and felt that there were very few products in the world that matched the accessibility and universal love that ice cream brings,” the museum’s Founder and Creative Director Maryellis Bunn added “This will be the first Museum of Ice Cream product that will be available across the country. It was a dream to team up with Target to bring the vision of Museum of Ice Cream nationwide and beyond the walls of our spaces.”
And perhaps the most important announcement of all is that yes, Target groceries will be selling actual real-life delicious ice cream as part of this special launch as well! Starting on July 8, the retailer will be the first-ever store to sell the Museum of Ice Cream’s premium dessert flavors: Churro Churro, Cherrylicious, Chocolate Crush, Nana Banana, Vanillionaire, Piñata, and Sprinkle Pool. They all sound incredible (for kids and adults alike), so get ready to get snacking!
If you are in the New York City area, there’s one more special treat to look out for: Target will be sponsoring the Museum of Ice Cream’s latest concept installation, called The Pint Shop. Not only will it be the perfect new place to inspire your colorful outfit of the day pics, but you’ll also be able to indulge in sugary sweet ice cream tastings at this one-of-a-kind venue.
