In addition to all of the most-searched beauty questions of the year, Google released a “Year In Search” list of the Top 10 Most Googled Beauty Brands of 2018 and the Top 10 Most-Searched Fashion Brands.
Would you be surprised to know that e-tailers like Fashion Nova and companies like Beautycounter topped the list? Or that mega brands like Chanel and Valentino tapered off in searches while Versace rose? Below, we are breaking down the most-searched style labels of the year – giving us some major consumer insight.
According to search engine data, the Top 10 Most Googled Beauty Brands of 2018 are:

3. Makeup Revolution
4. Thrive Causemetics
5. Pat McGrath
6. Milk Makeup

Notable brands from 2017’s most-searched list missing this year include Ulta Beauty (#1 in 2017), BH Cosmetics, LipSense, Benefit Cosmetics, Wet n Wild, Fenty Beauty, Huda Beauty, and Finishing Touch Flawless. These companies are definitely no-less popular in terms of sales, but there was certainly an industry shake-up happening over the years!
As for fashion, a similar breakdown of legacy brands and emerging labels topped Google’s search list.

Notable brands from 2017’s most-searched list missing this year are Supreme, Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Valentino. Last year, Gucci was #1 and Fashion Nova topped in at #5 most-searched brand, so this is a huge jump for the online retail company.
