Lacoste and Disney Team Up for Tennis-Themed Mickey Mouse Collection
2018 is a year of milestones for both Lacoste and Disney brands: this year, the French designer sportswear retailer is celebrating its 85th year in business – and of course, Mickey Mouse is turning 90 years old on his November 18 birthday. You may have noticed an uptick in Mickey merch everywhere, as fashion brands like Marc Jacobs, Rag & Bone, Coach, Levi’s, and many more have made timely collections to commemorate his legacy.
Lacoste’s Disney collection is made up of a variety of key pieces, in several classic colorways each. There is a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt; a preppy striped sweater style; classic white sneakers adorned with a cute Mickey logo; stylish tote bags, wristlets, and wallets; printed backpacks; Mickey graphic tees and hoodies with various designs; a precious striped polo shirt where there is a Mickey logo taking the place of Lacoste’s famous crocodile; and more.
Of course, no tribute to Mickey’s history would be complete without including Minnie Mouse. Minnie also made her Disney debut on November 18, 1928 in the animated cartoon that started it all, Steamboat Willie. So it’s only fair she would be included in these birthday celebrations. Lacoste’s sporty collection features plenty of pieces where Minnie is showing off her impressive serve while rocking vintage-inspired tennis gear.
Each of these stylish garments and accessories brings a little bit of that timeless childhood magic to life in a high-fashion and sophisticated way.
The Lacoste and Disney Mickey Mouse collection will be available in Lacoste stores across the United States and online at lacoste.com starting on November 1, and globally starting on November 14. Prices for the collection’s fashion and accessories pieces range from $78 to $348.
