Get Retro Styling Inspiration from the Chloé Pre-Fall 2019 Collection Lookbook
If you love when classic, vintage-inspired fashions get a fresh update to match your modern wardrobe, then we have a feeling you will love the newly-debuted Chloé Pre-Fall 2019 collection. The designer label’s newest lookbook, created from a showroom presentation of the styles, features the colors and bohemian patterns of the 1970s, mixed with some Victorian-era drama and 2019-worthy workwear staples.
Chloé Creative Director Natacha Ramsay-Levi explained that the very act of clashing old pieces with futuristic styles is a distinctly modern way of looking at dressing.
“The way we do fashion now is a lot about remixes and transformation, doing something new with something old,” she said, via WWD.
“I think what’s interesting about femininity is that it’s not just one directional,” the designer added, via Vogue. “You can say everything and its opposite, maybe sneak in a hidden message.”
In that vein, historically-inspired high collars adorned with ruffles and satin ties are paired with flared trousers and menswear-themed tweed blazers. Seventies staples like floral prints and crushed velvets are paired with modern accessories like high boots and striking mini bags.
