Asian Travel Inspires Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 Makeup Collection
The Chanel Spring/Summer 2019 makeup range puts a focus on dewey, radiant skin, bold lips, and smoldering eye looks. The theme for this season’s designer beauty collection is “vision d’Asie: l’art du détail,” which is inspired by the details of Asian travel.
Chanel’s Global Makeup Artist “Lucia Pica draws inspiration from the radiant and subtle contrasts seen during her trip through Asia, where she explored the cities, streets and markets,” Chanel shared about the collection on its website. “Captivated by the beauty of everyday details, she creates an intense range of makeup with green, blue, gold, ivory and fuchsia shades. A luminous collection.”
This collection is composed of a must-have new Les 9 Ombres in Édition N°2 Quintessence, “an eyeshadow palette that embodies the radiant contrasts captured during Lucia Pica’s trip through Asia,” the brand explained. It is comprised of “intense colors with matte, shiny and metallic finishes [used for creating] a luminous and subtle, yet bold eye look.”

Then there’s the Baume Essentiel, a new “radiant and hydrating balm that subtly illuminates the face,” according to Lucia Pica. This product is brand new for the season, and gives skin that healthy glow we all crave. Up next is an electric red shade of Rouge Allure Liquid Powder called Electric Blossom, which is inspired by the flowers of Asia. It’s a vibrant pop of color with a fashion-forward, powdery matte finish.
The latest Le Vernis nail polish colors in the Chanel Spring/Summer makeup collection are two extreme shades of contrasting colors: a neon pink called Techno Bloom, and a subtle beige named Bleached Mauve. The effect desired by the brand is “pop and pastel,” a playful mix of hues.
