While Rihanna fans are begging for a new album, Rihanna is out and about with boyfriend A$AP Rocky wearing one of the cutest 90s looks we’ve seen in a while.
On Wednesday, the singer and mogul went out on the town for a hot date in New York City, wearing a stunning vintage 2002 Dior pink slip dress, with a waist-high slit showing off her stunning legs. Rihanna accessories with long layered pink necklaces, Tom Ford gold heeled sandals, a very of the moment embellished shoulder bag by Fendi, as well as a hard-to-miss large pink fuzzy bucket hat.
Whether you love the hat or hate the hat, it’s hard to deny that Rihanna pulls it off flawlessly. While the outfit is very trendy, we would be remiss to not mention the origin of the trends: Rihanna herself in December 2020 with an adorable green version!
While not everyone has Rihanna money (hello, Fenty Beauty has been coming out with release after release this year!), you can still reimagine the key elements of this outfit with pieces that better fit your budget.
Were you a Bratz lover or a Barbie lover? Everyone growing up in the early to mid-2000s had their specific brand of dolls, perfectly fitting who they were (or who they wanted to be!).
Bratz kids were a special breed: we wanted cargo pants and cool kid graphic tees, but still a face that is beat to the nines! While Barbie went for a classic and hyper-feminine style, Bratz had something special: a taste that was in touch with what young people everywhere really wanted, even if it blended styles and smudged the norm.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of this very special brand, which started with just four dolls in 2001. The brand, created under the label MGA Entertainment, is celebrating with a gift to all the Bratz kids who have grown up but still miss the good ‘ole days. While Bratz lovers were once stuck living vicariously through their doll’s impeccable makeup, they can now make those looks their reality with the new Makeup Revolution x Bratz collection.
The new collection will be sold exclusively in Ulta Beauty Stores nationwide, as well as ULTA.com and RevolutionBeauty.com
“To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we are excited to partner with Makeup Revolution to help our fans continue to express their fearless statement of personal style based on their unapologetic self-confidence,” said Isaac Larian, founder and CEO of MGA Entertainment in the collaboration’s press release.
Let’s take a look at the items in the collection, which hit shelves on June 18. All images are credited to Revolution Beauty.
Revolution x Bratz Limitless Eye Shadow Palette ($28)
This colorful 27-pan palette features mattes, metallics, even glitter shades in a rainbow of colors. The gorgeous purple packaging and ultra 2000s names will make you wish you had a time machine.
Bratz x Cloe, Bratz x Jade, Bratz x Sasha, Bratz x Yasmin (each $22)
Hogwarts House? No Bratz lovers know EXACTLY which doll they are. If you still see Cloe as your fashion inspo, Makeup Revolution has got you covered with a set of four individual eyeshadow palettes, one for each of the four core girls.
Kohl Liner Set ($15), Mascara ($10), Liner ($10)
Everyone remembers the insanely popular Bratz makeup challenge that swept social media in 2019. One of the most important parts of hitting the look was the doe-eyed extended lower lash line liner. With this colorful but soft graphic eyeliner set, you can make Bratz doll eyes wearable in 2021! Add the new voluminous mascara and sharp liquid liner and you’ll be the newest member of the Rock Angelz.
Maxi Plump Lip ($12 each), Lip Crayon ($12), Lip Care Set ($14)
One of the most visually recognizable features of Bratz dolls is their luscious lips. In the age of overlining and lip fillers, they’ve never been more in trend. Get juicy, beautiful lips with the Maxi Plump Lip, or if you prefer a more matte moment, try the Lip Crayons. Whatever you decide, remember to keep them smooth and healthy with a Lip Care Set.
Brush Set ($24) and Bag ($14)
To put your new makeup on, of course, you need some new matching brushes! These metallic pink brush handles are as Bratz as it gets, with the set featuring an angled face brush, a powder brush, an angled eye brush, and an eye blending brush. Then, when you’re done, you can take them on the way with a purple, furry makeup bag, which can be purchased as part of the brush set or individually.
So whether you are a flirty and energetic Cloe, a trendy and adventurous Jade, a fierce and loyal Sasha, or even a glamorous and ultra-femme Yasmin, Makeup Revolution has got you covered. Just like the iconic song says: “Time to show the whole world what we’re all about, we’re the girls with a passion for fashion!”
Happy Pride Month! Celebrate the most colorful time of year with some beautiful rainbow eye makeup looks. As lesbian queen Hayley Kiyoko says, “If I’m gonna be extra, today is the day!”
While it never hurts to look fabulous, remember that Pride Month is about more than just rainbows and killer liner. Whether a member of the LGBT community or an ally, use this time to remember the amazing LGBT history that every June marks. We highly recommend attending an event or donating to a charity (like the Trevor Project, an LGBT crisis intervention organization) near you.
Let’s have a look at some of the best two-toned rainbow makeup looks, from fellow LGBT influencers and celebrities:
You think we should do only one eyeshadow look? Nah! We love this two-toned eye from Lauren Jauregui of Fifth Harmony fame. The rainbow spreads from one side of the face to the other with some pretty shadows. The singer posted this image on her Instagram in 2019.
Lauren famously came out as bi-sexual in a letter penned in 2016, published to Billboard. In the letter, the now 24-yr old singer spoke to supporters of then president Donald Trump, as well as used the occasion to come out publicly to fans. Lauren gained a large following as a member of Fifth Harmony, a girl group formed through the audition show X Factor. She recently released a single, “50ft” in April of 2020, with a debut album expected in 2021.
We always have room to learn from the queen of makeup herself! Nikkie de Jager, also known online as NikkieTutorials, sports another two-toned rainbow look, this time, featuring individual rainbow dots! We adore her blush draping wraps into the rainbow shadows seamlessly. Nickie posted this look on her Twitter in June 2020.
Nikkie started on Youtube in 2008 at the age of 14. As of 2021, she has amassed an empire of 13.8 million followers. Nikkie came out as a transgender woman in January 2020 through a video titled “I’m Coming Out.” The makeup artist mentioned her journey of transitioning while on the platform. Nikkie has had multiple makeup brand collaborations, with the most recent being a palette with Beauty Bay.
Noticed a trend? Just like with gender and sexuality, there are no rules to how to do your makeup. Here’s another look at a beautiful two-toned rainbow look. Pair it with a natural lip to bring all attention to your eyes. Remember your ROY-G-BIVs and you’ll have a gorgeous eye look, just like influencer Gabriel Zamora, who posted this amazing look to his Instagram in 2019.
Gabriel started making makeup tutorials in 2014, and has quickly amassed around 800k followers on both Instagram and Youtube. Gabriel is openly gay, and has been involved in numerous campaigns related to LGBT pride, including Milk Makeup’s 2018 Pride Pack. Although many know him for the many “dramaggedons” he has been a part of, his beauty skills are unmatched!
Although not a two-toned look, we couldn’t resist including Cara Delevingne’s bottom liner rainbow look, posted to her Instagram on February 22. Use some gel liners to create tiny triangles under your eyes, in every color of the rainbow!
The English model and actress is openly pansexual as well as identifies as genderfluid. Previously, Cara has dated singer St. Vincent and actress Ashley Benson. This year, Cara collaborated with Puma and the Trevor Project for a Pride-themed clothing line titled “Forever Free”, with a portion of proceeds benefiting LGBT foundations.
Get out those rainbow palettes and get cracking! This is the perfect time of year to get creative with your look. Tag us with your rainbow looks on Instagram using @richardmagazine and let us see those blending skills at work.
The Kardashian-Jenner clan has added yet another brand under their belt with the new Kylie Baby line.
Kylie Jenner, 23, announced her new brand with an Instagram post featuring her daughter Stormi Webster with a simple caption of: “bath time with @kyliebaby.”
The linked profile is currently empty, without even a profile picture, however, as of June 4 it has amassed 577K followers.
Currently no details are known about the brand. Eagle-eyed fans of Kylie noted that she trademarked ‘Kylie Baby’ last year under skincare products, such as moisturizers, lotions, body oils, body gels, etc, as well as cribs, strollers, diaper bags, baby bottles, and clothing.
Kylie currently owns multiple brands, including Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin. She has also registered the trademark for Kylie Swim, and is currently in the process of trademarking Kylie Body and Kylie Hair. Whether these new trademarks mean new brands, or if it is just a safety measure, is to be seen.
Her main brand, Kylie Cosmetics, recently deleted all posts from their Instagram, leading fans to believe something major is happening with the much-loved brand. The only post to remain was a photo of Jenner in a metallic pink outfit and blunt black bangs with the caption: “Something is coming.” A visit to the Kylie Cosmetics website says the same thing, and offers a newsletter sign up. No products are currently being sold on the site. Other retailers, such as Ulta Beauty, currently have all Kylie products on sale.
The media mogul surprised the world in 2018 when she gave birth to Stormi Webster, now 3 years old, with rapper Travis Scott. Jenner’s entire pregnancy was a secret, and it was only announced after Stormi was born.
What do you think is Kylie’s next step in the business world? Are you excited for Kylie Baby? Let us know in the comments.
